EasyDrive Release Note Update : Triage

EasyDrive 1.0.1.5 : Streamline, Tag, and Share Slides with Ease

Released: August 25, 2025

A Note from Our Product Manager

To most, digital pathology represents an efficiency in workflow designed to declutter desks and streamline care. But an interesting thing often happens in practice; just when you think digital pathology has saved the day... IT questions start to emerge.

Where did all this data come from?
How many more scanners need to be connected?
Where are the doctors logging in from?
• And how exactly does that AI plugin work again?

The opportunity to improve pathology is huge, but so are the operational hurdles that come with scaling digital systems. Many slide scanners are great at producing high-resolution images but stop short of managing the volume of data they create. A single scanner might generate slides larger than 5GB each yet only offer a single terabyte of storage.

Suddenly, your well-equipped lab is feeling the crunch. Management is fielding emails from IT about a surprise 10TB spike on the LAN. A rural pathologist is struggling with VPN bandwidth. And someone is still trying to figure out how to route special stain requests.

These are the kinds of challenges we built EasyDrive to solve.

The EasyDrive Library isn’t just a place to store slides—it’s a smarter way to keep your cases organized, accessible, and shareable across teams. Whether you’re handling 10 or 10,000 slides, it helps bring structure to your digital pathology workflow—without adding to the chaos.

Make organizing and sharing slides easier than ever

If you’ve ever struggled to keep track of scanned slides, manage folders, or quickly share cases with colleagues—you’re not alone. Pathology workflows generate a lot of data fast, and traditional tools aren’t always built to keep up.

That’s where EasyDrive comes in. From smarter triage sorting to intuitive tagging and one-click sharing, this release is all about helping you move through your digital slide workflow with less clutter and more control.

Smarter slide sorting built for real-world workflows

Triage view now gives you flexible ways to sort and organize scans right off the scanner. Whether you’re scanning dozens of slides or organizing by patient ID, EasyDrive helps you find exactly what you need—fast.

Tray-based Grouping

Each scan session is grouped into folders of up to 20 slides—just like the physical trays most labs use. This keeps your batches tidy and familiar, so you’re never digging through a sea of files to find what you need.

From there, EasyDrive gives you two intuitive ways to sort those folders, depending on how you work:

  • Sort by Time
Slides are grouped by scan sessions—up to 20 slides per folder—making it easy to see what was scanned and when. Great for labs scanning in batches.
  • Sort by Name
EasyDrive automatically groups slides with matching names (like patient or case ID) into one folder, even if scanned separately. No extra work needed—just scan, and it’s sorted.

Rescans? EasyDrive’s got your back.

Whether you’re catching a blurry image or reloading a missed slide, rescanning is seamless.

  • Under Time, it appears in a new folder so you can quickly spot the latest batch.
  • Under Name, it slides right back into the original group—keeping your cases tidy and complete.

No need to manually regroup or re-sort. Just rescan, and EasyDrive takes care of the rest—saving you clicks and cleanup.

Tag your slides, your way

EasyDrive now lets you organize scans with custom tags— so your slides are organized before they even hit the Library.

  • Create tag categories like tissue type, stain, or outcome
  • Add tags while reviewing slides or snapshots

Whether you’re tagging by tissue type, stain, or experimental outcome, EasyDrive keeps your library organized, searchable, and ready for whatever comes next.

Share faster with two simple send options

Once your scans are reviewed and tagged, you can move them into your Library with one click. Choose the method that works best for your workflow:

  • Send to Library Only
Pick specific slides and create a custom Viewing Set to share later. Great for fine-tuned selection.
  • Send to Library and Viewer
Skip the manual step. EasyDrive creates a Viewing Set using the same folder name and shares it right away.

Settings that save you time—and storage

Whether you’re managing access or clearing out old slides, EasyDrive gives you more control behind the scenes.

  • Auto-delete in Triage
Set how many days slides stay in triage. EasyDrive clears them automatically to free up space without lifting a finger.
  • Stay logged in longer
Need more time? You can now extend your browser session up to 24 hours—great for labs working across longer shifts or time zones. (Default remains 15 minutes for security.)
